What is SocialJunction.com?
SocialJunction.com is an open platform for creating your profile, venue profiles, and events. Any user can add their favorite restaurant, bar, or club to our database, sharing it with the rest of the community. And, any user can create events (parties, happy hours, meetings, etc.) For more on managing an event profile, see the Event FAQ. SocialJunction.com wants to have every restaurant, bar, & club in your area in its database. We provide a powerful search that lets you find just what you are looking for. You can find a happy hour, Cajun food, free wireless internet, and everything in between.
»TopWhy do I have to create an account?
Some features require you to create an account. Don't worry, this is free and painless and allows you to really connect with your community and others using SocialJunction.com. We also require you to identify yourself to protect all users from spam.
»TopHow do I change my profile?
Once you are registered and logged in to the site, a button named "Profile Settings" appears on your profile page. This gives you several options for updating different areas of your personal profile. It also gives you a button for adding a venue to the SocialJunction.com database so that you can share your favorite place with everyone.
»TopWhat are venue profiles?
A venue profile is a self-contained website promoting a restuarant, bar, or club. Any registered user can add their favorite place to the SocialJunction database to share it with the rest of the SocialJunction.com community.
»TopHow do I add a venue to the SocialJunction.com database?
Please register, login, and visit your profile page. There will be a "profile" link at the top of each page when you are logged in. On each of your personal profile pages, there will be a "Profile Settings" link which gives you access to the "Register a Venue" button. This will allow you to specify many of the venue attributes and insert it into our database of local restaurants, bars, & clubs.
»TopWho put my place on the SocialJunction.com site?
Anyone can add any location as long as it conforms to the terms of use of the site. The administrator can add pictures, features, happy hours, etc. to the profile. If you are the owner or manager of a venue and would like to administer its profile on SocialJunction.com, please see the instructions for ownership verification.
»TopHow much does a venue profile cost?
SocialJunction.com is a free service which includes an unlimited number of venue profiles.
»TopCan I add more than one place?
Yes, if you are a regional manager of a chain of restaurants or would like to add all your favorite places, then you can follow the same steps above as you did when creating your first venue.
»TopHow do I edit the venue profile, happy hours, & picture gallery?
Only the venue profile administrator can make changes to the profile. When logged in, the administrator will see a 'Venue Settings' link on the venue profile pages. This leads to an administration panel where various parts of the profile can be updated.
»TopWhy does it say, "unverified" under the venue name?
We want to differentiate the venue profiles that are created by patrons from those that are actually administered by the owner or manager of the restaurant, bar, or club. Until the ownership verification process is complete, the venue profile shows an 'unverified' link below the title of the venue.
»TopWhat are event profiles?
Event profiles are the pages on SocialJunction.com dedicated to describing
your event. They can be found using the
event search engine. These event profiles are also linked by their parent
venue and on the promoter profile.
Events can be made "public" or "inviation only". (Invitations
can be sent in either case). For "invitation only" events,
only those people logged in and invited to the event can access the
event profile. This gives you a very private way of promoting your
get-together. Also included with each event is a powerful
set of RSVP tracking tools.
We know you want an easy way to get the word out and you
need to know how many people are coming. So, we've included
simple yet effective tools that let you send invitation emails and
track responses.
How do I add an event to the SocialJunction.com database?
Look for the "Create Event" link on your profile. Alternatively, if are setting up an after hours happy hour at your favorite local brewery, then you can start at the brewery's profile page. (If the brewery isn't in our database, you can quickly add it. See the Venue Managers FAQ above.) Or, if you are planning a suprise birthday party at your house, simply add your house as a 'Private' venue. Doing so will allow you to more easily create parties and gatherings at your house later.

It is free to host your event on SocialJunction.com and the Invitation + RSVP tools are included!
»TopHow do I make changes to an event once it is created?
The user that creates an event is the event promoter. Event promoters get a special 'Event Settings' link on the event profile when they are logged in. This link takes you to the event profile command center (really this is just a few tools for managing the event.)
